Acabei montando um blog em dois idiomais, com tradução, sem muita dificuldade num tempo em que isso não era tão comum. Mas a manutenção disso tudo ficou chata demais para o que deveria ser um bloguezinho comum. Depois, fiz minha primeira tentativa com o WordPress (o .org, não o .com). Funcionalidade simples, bem focada em blog (estou aqui falando de um WordPress de alguns anos atrás), centenas de plugins – curti. Fiquei com ele por um bom tempo, de lá pra cá já montei alguns sites e blogs com ele, e é até hoje meu favorito.
Eis que entrou em cena o Posterous. Simples, facílimo de usar, encanta pela experiência de usuário fantástica. Cheguei a recuperar o ânimo para blogar. E o problema foi justamente esse. Quando comecei a retomar o gosto pela coisa, comecei a querer inventar mais coisas. Tenho várias idéias planejadas para fazer no meu blog pessoal, mas nada disso é possível no Posterous. Apesar de acrescentar funcionalidades numa velocidade impressionante, nada se compara a uma instalação própria de WordPress em termos de personalização. Outros probleminhas, menores, incomodaram mas não foram decisivos: falta de localização e algumas instabilidade devido a problemas de hospedagem nas últimas semanas. Essas coisas atrapalham bastante blogs corporativos ou com tráfego mais alto, mas não um pequeno blog pessoal como o meu.
Então, cá estou eu, de volta ao WordPress. Para os que recomendei o Posterous no passado, saibam que não mudei de idéia: o Posterous continua sendo uma plataforma belíssima para quem quer implantar um blog muito rapidamente com baixíssimo esforço, e um ambiente extremamente convidativo para postar. Mas, se você gosta, como se diz em inglês, de “bells and whistles”, e gosta de fuçar em ferramentas de software, você vai enjoar dele daqui a pouco. Eu enjoei…
